This infrastructure specialist is responsible in assisting the development,
upgrading, implementation and administration of the agency virtualization
infrastructure and use of set products.
*Complete Description:*
Hardware and Software
Plan, implement and upgrade the virtualization hardware and software
infrastructure for use within the N-Tier environment and MDOP developer
environment.
Assist in upgrading the hardware and software configuration for the DHS
Windows 2000 and 2003 mulit-forest Active Directory environment.
Configure server security (lock down)
Assist in upgrading the backup / restore environment for servers,
directories and files.
Assist in documenting the hardware and software environments.
Continue to review, and assist in planning and implementing the new standard
server hardware into the Active Directory environment; and apply access
controls and implement management tools.
*Infrastructure Environment*
Assist in reviewing, planning and implementing the Backup & Disaster
Recovery Environment
Plan, implement and configure the virtualization infrastructure.
Assist in planning and implementing the DHS SCCM and MDOP environment.
Provide assistance in transitioning applications into the virtualization
infrastructure.
*Multi-Forest Active Directory*
Assist in upgrading the agency's Windows 2003 Active Directory environment;
and apply access controls, other security safeguards and implement
management tools.
Assist in documenting the Active Directory environment.
Assist in reviewing, planning and implementing the Backup & Disaster
Recovery Environment
Upgrade the Active Directory environment.

Recommend ways of upgrading the N-Tier Enterprise Environment.
