Position: Senior ETL Developer
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 6 Months

Overview
The Senior ETL Developer will be responsible for architecture, design,
development of ETL in a VLDB environment.  Not that this is not for a
DataWarehouse, but for high volume batch processing of medical claims
data for large transaction processing system.

Development Responsibilities
•       Architect jobs for maximum reusability
•       Design Informatica workflow and jobs
•       Develop ETL workflow, jobs, and maplets
•       Perform code review from peer developers
•       Perform unit test prior to submitting to Quality Assurance team
•       Must be able to maintain mapping documents.
•       Design tactics for data cleansing upon load

Operations Responsibilities
•       Performance tune ETL and database access
•       Work with DBA on physical optimizations
•       Ensure daily execution of scheduled jobs
•       Execute manual or ad-hoc jobs
•       Monitor exceptions and errors
•       Support BA on data analysis for errors in data or to help flesh out
requirement
•       Research and close tickets

Soft Skills

•       Must be able to deliver within short time frames
•       Team player that is also self-motivated
•       Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•       Ability to analyze and solve problems and work with the team to
identify and fix the root cause of the problems (be it data quality,
performance, or programmatic)
•       Life cycle experience in large complex systems

Specific Technical Skills
•       10+ years of IT experience
•       5+ years Informatica experience
•       2+ years experience working with VLDB (very large databases)
•       5+ yrs Oracle experience – SQL (must be very strong in SQL)
•       1+ years Oracle experience –  PL/SQL
•       5+ years experience with Linux (Preferably Red Hat)
•       Proven experience in data profiling and analysis
•       Proven experience with data cleansing
•       Working knowledge of relational data structures / models /
relationships
•       Experience with   IDE, IDQ, or IIR is a plus
•       US citizen is a plus
