DataStage ETL Lead Location: Charlotte Duration: 6 months Rate: $50-52 max. Primary Skills: SQL Data Access # of Years Required: 6-8 Secondary Skills: UNIX # of Years Required: 6-8 Job Purpose/ Description: Ø Experience in User Interaction, Business Analysis, Development, Integration, Documentation, Testing, Deployment, Building, Configuration and Production/Customer support, Maintenance and Enhancements of DataStage applications. Ø Expertise in Extraction, Cleansing, Validating and Integrating of data from multiple systems. Ø Hands on experience in Transforming Business specific rules into functional Specs. Ø Created ETL Standards, High Level and Low-level design documents. Ø Strong experience in designing Parallel, Server Jobs, Job Sequencers and Batch Jobs. Ø Extensively worked with Parallel Extender for splitting multiple data streams into sub chunks to distribute the load evenly across all available processors to achieve maximum thru put. Ø Strong Knowledge of Data Warehouse Architecture, Star Schema, Snow flake Schema, Fact tables and Dimensional tables. Ø Experience in Integration of various data sources like TeraData, DB2UDB, SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase and Ms-Access. Ø Strong experience in writing database procedures, functions and fine-tuning SQL for performance optimization. Ø Good experience in writing Shell Scripts to automate file manipulation and data loading procedures. Ø Responsible for Production Support and involved in On-Call for CDW Operations. Ø Hands on experience in tuning mappings, identify and resolving performance bottlenecks in various levels like source and target mappings. Ø Good Domain Knowledge in Finance. Ø Excellent team player with good organizational, communicational, analytical and logical skills. Ø Ability to handle multiple tasks and to work independently as well as in a team, experienced in interacting with Business/Technology groups Tasks and Responsibilities: • Excellent knowledge of programming / systems analysis, as well as quality assurance, prototyping, construction, integration, and migration functions; possesses an excellent understanding of programming languages, development tools, and the current environment. • Displays problem solving and analytical skills, using them to resolve technical problems; possesses an excellent understanding of business requirements and IT strategies. • Draws on extensive knowledge base (e.g., infrastructure, technology, and applications) to analyze problems of the greatest complexity and contribute to troubleshooting efforts. • Leverages excellent design understanding and/or capabilities (e.g., database, application code, reusable objects, and interfaces) to optimize development efforts in a distributed environment. • Adept at understanding operational nuances across multiple business units / functional areas. • Responsible for supervising more junior staff in the execution of projects. • May serve as back-up for manager. • May have involvement with the business during its strategic planning and budget cycles to leverage knowledge and anticipate technology transformation potential from a customer perspective; may provide buy vs. build recommendations or assist in platform determination.
