Position : ASP.NET Developer

Location : locals to MA

Rate : $40/HR -- Only





The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is looking for a
developer to serve as technical lead during the integration of Schools
Interoperability Framework (SIF) technology into our data collection systems
and education data warehouse (EDW). SIF is a framework using web standards
to support data exchange in education. We are looking for someone assertive
to lead technical discussions and ‘own’ the technical vision of the project.
This individual must work closely with the ESE SIF project manager to ensure
that the project is moving forward according to timelines.



Duties:

Serve as a liaison between ESE technical team and vendors

Analyze requirements and proposed architecture to ensure that technical
design meets requirements

Work with technical team to design and implement successful integration of a
third party product into ESE environment

Explain technical integration vision to technical and non-technical
stakeholders

Lead joint application design sessions when necessary to define vision of
how integrated product will meet ESE needs

Analyze the flow of data through the system and ensure data validation needs
are met



Skills Needs.

Ability to analyze requirements and proposed architecture to ensure that
technical design meets requirements

Ability to evaluate data integrating options and identify risks/issues and
work with project team and vendor to identify solutions

Experience leading joint application design sessions

4+ years of hands-on experience as an ASP/.net developer using associated
technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Visual Basic, ADO, COM and ODBC).

4+ years working with Microsoft IIS on Windows server platforms.

Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008

Experience with parsing, validating, and processing XML data.

Solid understanding of OOP methodology using both MS SQL and Oracle
Databases. Ability to write queries and perform general DBA tasks such as
DTS.

Strong understanding of data exchange, data and web transaction throughput,
and data security.

Must be creative and resourceful, a self-starter and highly motivated. Able
to work independently, while remaining an effective and efficient member of
cross-functional teams

Must be highly organized, with excellent follow-through, multi-tasking and
problem solving skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Experience developing and integrating web services desirable



Other notes:

The contract will be through July 31st, 2010. There is a strong possibility
of the contract being extended into future quarters
