Role: Storage Architect
Location: Rochester, NY
Rate: $Negotiable

The Storage Architect works in the organization*s Service Delivery Team as
the technical resource responsible for executing operational and marketing
tools for customer environments, analyzing and presenting the results, as
well as developing system configurations and providing technical information
to customers both internal and external.

While requiring a very strong technical background, the Storage Architect
role also requires excellent interpersonal skills and be highly competitive
with a strong desire to win. A strategic thinker, the candidate possesses
excellent presentation skills, has an aptitude for technical writing
aptitude, and the ability to adapt to a wide variety of customer
environments. A strong team player, this role requires an experienced person
with an entrepreneurial spirit capable of gaining trusted advisor status
with large enterprises. Someone who can take initiative without requiring
direction.

Qualifications/ Required Skills:

* Technical depth in open systems is essential.
* Test new storage architectures and document results.
* Co-ordinates the installation of the company*s storage products and
assists with Systems Assurance and co-ordination of Customer Education
necessary for the install of EMC, Hitachi, IBM, Netbackup, Commvault or
other similar type products.
* Design, implement, manage, monitor, and administrate enterprise backup
environment
* Design, implement, manage, monitor, and administrate SAN, including Fabric
switches, Disk Tape Libraries, and associated technologies.
* Monitor and modify all data storage on an ongoing basis ensuring
sufficient capacity, performance and throughput to meet demand, availability
and SLA requirements.
* Assists in Software Support and Problem Determination as required.
* Directs and conducts major studies of customer requirements necessitating
a high degree of analytical ability.
* Provides training to Sales, Marketing, and offshore personnel in specific
areas of expertise.
* Maintains knowledge of target market computer systems, the company*s
storage products, competitive products, industry trends, and the company*s
Storage marketing practices.
* Maintains knowledge on conversion, performance, capacity planning,
configuration planning, use of quantitative and other methods, and necessary
in the sales support of the company*s storage products.
* May require the same level of knowledge for other related products forming
part of the proposed company*s storage solution.
* Maintains knowledge on the use and application of the company*s pre-sales
technical tools used to understand and report on customer requirements and
the use of the company*s storage products in customer environments.
* Is expected to demonstrate high competence in technical, business and
communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills required.
