Title: VB.Net Developer
Location: Minneapolis , MN
Duration: 06 - 12 months
Short Description:
Job Functions:
* Participate in full life-cycle development from requirements
through production support
* Produce analysis, design, build, test, deployment, and support
artifacts as appropriate to the project
* Provide estimates for development that can be used to determine
project schedules
* Create and utilize patterns and frameworks as part of an overall
software architecture blueprint
* Mentor other developers through project lifecycle on both
technology and process
* Perform unit and component integration testing, including test
plans and development of test data
* Participate in team meetings
* Provide timely status updates to project leadership
* Identify and mitigate risks in process and technology
* Serve on 24X7 system support rotation
Required Technical Capabilities
* 5+ years analysis and design
* 5+ years in debugging complex business applications
* 5+ years designing and coding using VB .NET (2000, 2003 and/or
2005)
* 5+ years experience with SQLserver (2000, 2003 and/or 2005)
* 2+ years development using the SCRUM methodology
* 3+ years using visual studio
* Exposure to webservices
Desired Technical Capabilities
* Some JAVA experience – J2EE, Hibernate, SEAM, EJB3
* 1+ years experience with DHTML/XHTML/Javascript
* Demonstrable experience with application management and
monitoring
Required Professional Experience
* BA or BS Degree in Computer Science, Business or related field
* 8+ years of professional experience in systems development teams
* 5+ years of full life-cycle engagement in appropriate
technologies for mission critical systems
* 5+ years experience of building effective working relationships
and communications channels within a large cross-functional team,
including quality engineers, product managers, business analysts,
project managers, and support analysts
* 3+ years working with appropriate technologies in the context of
24x7 availability requirements
* Familiarity with leading various development methodologies
(Agile, RUP, Extreme, etc.)
Desired Professional Experience
* MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solution Developer) or MCAD (Microsoft
Certified Application Developer)
