*Job Title : Web Developer Ruby on Rails (RoR) Location : Minneapolis, MN Duration : 4+ Months Contract* Position Description: Experience Level: 10 or more years technical background and 6+ years directly related web experience. Description: Acts as the highest-level technical expert on the development and implementation of highly complex, large-scale internet and intranet applications on diverse platforms, crossing multiple business lines. Uses expert knowledge of web technologies, including C++, Java, Java Script, HTML, CGI, XML, Perl, ASP, multimedia applications, database modeling tools and/or database interactions. Evaluates systems specifications for client area web site requirements and determines and implements the most efficient and cost-effective software/package solution. Provides leadership in researching and tracking new web technologies, developing service applications, and analyzing business requirements as they pertain to web-based systems. Oversees system quality assurance and consistency with installation and security policy and standards. Provides direction and guidance to less experienced staff. Ruby on Rails (RoR) technical lead with extensive experience in coaching and leading development of highly complex RoR applications. An expert in all layers of RoR development with advanced knowledge and ability to mentor developers. Capable of being a leader in a highly collaborative lab environment with the ability to guide technical and functional discussions with the business and development teams. Proven track record of researching and implementing RoR applications using Agile practices. Able to clearly communicate and lead discussions on design patterns, technical improvements, and implementation strategies. Experience being a leader on a team developing software using Test Driven Development, familiar with best practices on refactoring, and capable of designing and articulating a unit testing strategy for all layers of the application. Provides direction, guidance, and mentoring on all functional and technical areas of the system for less experienced staff. Minimum Experience: 10+ of technical background, 6+ years directly related web experience, 2+ years of RoR experience. Must have been a RoR technical lead on at least two projects.
