*PROJECT SCOPE/TASKS:-*


*The scope of this project encompasses the following tasks:*-


* Develop and design a migration plan for a *Microsoft Exchange 2010 upgrade
*project using best practice standards.

* Design and migrate from Current Microsoft Exchange 2007 environment to
Microsoft Exchange 2010 environment that utilizes multiple sites, *Database
Availability Groups *(DAG), *Microsoft ISA serve*r and *IronPort security *
appliances.

* Confirm the architecture, migration plan, strategy, server sizing, and
enhanced processes that will achieve goals in support of the migration.

* Provide architectural and implementation experience and knowledge to
develop the architecture, deployment plan and client migration plan.

* Provide best practice knowledge transfer throughout the entire
engagement.

* Assist CalPERS in providing best practice knowledge transfer and
experience to *CalPERS* Microsoft Exchange 2010 project team.

* Provide technical support / installation / configuration in Microsoft
Exchange 2010 server.

* Develop/implement project plan to upgrade/convert older version of *Microsoft
Exchange 2007 server *in a clustered environment to the *latest version. *

* Provide support in patch management.

* Assist in the development, implementation and execution of internal and
industry standards, practices and processes for server hardware and
software.

* Provide support for hardware configuration.

* Provide Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and
implementation support.

* Train others in the use, maintenance and customization of software
products.

* Document all work completed.

* Provide weekly status reports.

* Develop Microsoft Project Timelines.

* Identify key risks and issues and present remediation steps.

* Provide knowledge transfer and best practice exposure throughout the
engagement to assist in positioning a successful design and migration plan.

* Analyze proposed Exchange and Windows cluster configurations.

* Conduct risk assessment of the proposed design and architecture plan.

* Conduct a high level review of proposed Service Level Agreements in
existing and proposed designs.

* Design and review existing A*ctive Directory 2003/2008 architecture* and
design as they relate t*o Exchange. *

* Design and review of *Active Directory infrastructure design* as
pertaining to specific functionality required for *Exchange 2010. *

* Design and review the Exchange *Storage Disk Subsystem* and the proposed
configuration.

* Design and review of *IOPs profile* (User usage on existing mail system).

* Design and review Exchange 2010 specific operational improvement goals.

* Provide, review, develop and implement recommendations and best practices
for Security as pertaining to *Exchange 2010.*


*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*

*The successful candidate must meet the following minimum qualifications:-*


* A minimum of *10 years** experience in all aspects of computer hardware
configuration and maintenance engineering with areas of expertise in system
integration, staging testing, installation, clustering, reconfiguration,
relocation, and system administration.

* Thorough experience in *Microsoft Exchange Server 2010* installs
configuration and migration from *Microsoft Exchange server 2007.*

* Accreditation as Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCTIP)

* Accreditation as Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)

* Previous system administration experience supporting private/public
retirement systems is desired.

* The candidate must have good oral communication skills.

* The candidate must have good written communication skills.
