Title: VB Developer. (Pure VB needed) Location: Austin TX.
Duration: 6 months. The duties to be performed by the Developer 2 are: A. Create Excel 2007 workbooks based on a template format and undocumented school finance formulas which are highly complex and are embedded in Microsoft Access SQL code. B. Will work closely with the Consolidated Entitlements Management (CEMS) and ExcelCalc technical teams, Formula Funding Division managers and staff. C. Assist in the development of testing plans and test scripts for user acceptance testing for Excel workbooks. D. Mentor and transfer knowledge gained to TEA Information Systems staff E. Create or update other CEMS specific documentation (procedures, user help, training materials, overviews, etc.) as required. F. Coordinate and or assist in user acceptance testing and user training. G. Report routinely on the progress of assigned tasks to the TEA CEMS project manager. H. Must comply with TEA Project Management Offices processes and procedures as well as TEA policy, procedures, and guidelines. I. Other duties as assigned. *II. *WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum Requirements:* Years Skills/Experience 3 Visual Studio 6.0 Visual Basic programming 3 Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Access and complex Access database expertise 3 Experience working with complex formulas quickly and accurately. 3 Knowledge of both MS Access and SQL Server databases, schemas, tables, and elements 3 Experience reading and writing complex SQL code 3 Work experience in gathering system requirements through code analysis and validating through implementation, rather than through pre-documented requirements. 3 Experience determining formula requirements by reverse engineering existing Access SQL code base rather than relying on formula requirements documentation. 3 Experience converting Access databases to SQL databases with knowledge in defining and modeling existing Access SQL codebases, and writing complex SQL queries and advanced knowledge of relational databases. 3 Experience determining and communicating to a team the test baseline of data set inputs to formulas and expected outputs and reports. 3 Experience analyzing reports on Access databases and recreating in Excel Reporting Services or similar reporting technology. Strong Ability to work in an agile and rapidly changing environment. Strong Interviewing, facilitation, problem resolution, consensus building, and negotiating skills. Strong Analytical, mathematical and data storage skills. Strong Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
