*(Urgent Need) HOT Technical Architect with OLAP (10 years) and Data
Warehouse*

Technical Architect
4 week project
Atlanta, GA

• Technical Architect
• Logical architecture, input into roadmap, priceout range estimates
• The client's project is Enterprise Data Portal.

Project Details:
This is a very visual exercise and the solution isn't defined at this stage.
Project team is going to undertake the construction of a
non-functional visual prototype to help define some ideas about what the
solution might be. These will take the form of conceptual screens and
wireframes. Need a technical person with a background in Data
Warehouse and OLAP but with a deep focus in visualization and large data
interfaces. It is important to understand this specific distinction: we do
not need someone to help the client BUILD this data warehouse, but we do
need someone who understands how accessing a data warehouse is different
than a web e-commerce transaction system (OLAP/OLTP) and what can be done
with visualization technologies for very large data sets.

There are two responsibilities for the Technical Architect needed for this
project:
The first is to shadow the conceptualization team (consisting of a Delivery
Lead, an MQ Biz Analyst, an MQ Information Architect, an MQ graphic
designer) and to help them understand the potential impact of their ideas
and the feasibility of their ideas. This
will require the technical person to do a quick survey of the client's data
warehouse as well as the data population processes and automations in place.
This is not going to be a detailed analytical study (that is
going to be a separate project as explained below); but the person will need
to be comfortable conversing with the data warehouse team that this client
has.

The second responsibility is to assist in puting together a roadmap of
high level activities that will need to be undertaken to materialize the
visual prototype. If there are identified gaps between the capabilities of
the datawarehouse and the demans that the prototype will put on it (missing
large data sets; impedance mismatch etc). If there are missing platforms
(like perhaps selection of a middleware tool or moving to a trigger based
messaging system on the database, or introduction of a data visualization
tool etc), those will need to be steps on the road map. The Technical
Architect will also need to identify how these larger pieces fit together
and propose a high level architecture (at a system level granularity without
software architecture specifics or
capacity planning).

Required Skills:
• Strong Data Warehousing experience
• OLAP • Minimum 10 yrs. of experience
• Rich, Internet application experience
• Design and Implementation
• Partner Mgt/Consulting experience
• Candidate needs to be politically savvy
