Ø Handling Database using hot /cold backups and dump/loads Installing Oracle. Ø Migrating data using import/export, oracle datapump, and transport tablespaces. Ø Tested many backup and crash recovery scenarios on test environment (10g), using RMAN. Ø Installing Oracle on various platforms and migrating database from 8i to 9i and 9i to 10g and Cloning. Ø Good working skills in RMAN. Ø Developing complex shell scripts (korn mainly) for backup, rotating logs/files, etc. Ø Extensive use of Crontab in UNIX environment for scheduling routine tasks. Ø Maintain and improve high availability and disaster recovery with Physical Standby Dataguard. Ø Expertise in developing SQL and PL/SQL codes through various procedures, functions, and packages to implement the business logics of database in Oracle. Ø Implemented Oracle's Advanced Features such as Partition table, Partition Index, Function Based Indexes and loaded bulk data with SQL*Loader. Ø Performance monitoring and fine tuning of the system for optimal performance. Ø Performed partition maintenance of huge tables. Ø Copied application schema from production to reporting database using transportable tablespace feature on weekends. Ø Performed Daily activity like database monitoring using OEM and shell scripts, liaising with and advising the developers when performance issues occurred and working with Oracle support. Ø Used AWR & ADDM for database performance and statistics Ø Tuned oracle SQL statement by tracing & using Explain Plan and STATSPAK. Ø Managed Undo Segment in order to avoid "Snapshot too old" error. Ø Managed users and groups, monitored and tuned Oracle Portal Environment (9i), also performed migration of Oracle Portal Objects.
