Position: Data Analyst Location: Chicago, IL Duration: 3 Months Note: Need Local Position Description: This position is responsible for functions on projects of moderate to high complexity by working with business partners within multiple business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies; eliciting, documenting, and refining business requirements for the IT organization; serving as a liaison across multiple facets of the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs; leveraging an informed knowledge of business areas to identify and/or resolve problems on an ongoing basis. Skills Required: Bachelor Degree and 3 years experience with data analysis and manipulation and/or in leading and/or management of projects tasks OR 5 years experience with data analysis and manipulation and/or supporting projects tasks. Some Experience with projects using a System Development Life Cycle methodology Ability to work with little or no guidance, lead projects, and motivate team members. Good analytical, conceptual and root cause analysis skills. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Strong interpersonal, presentation, verbal, written and communication skills. Candidate with the following skills in addition to the skills listed above will be considered above all others: ASG Rochade experience Work with a meta data repository Previous Blues Experience Additional Responsibilities/Accountabilities: This position is responsible for working in multiple project tasks, participating in information subject matter expert groups, business processes, and leading supporting functions to help deliver quality information repositories and BI applications, which meet the goals of multiple business areas; working with other Information system analysts and users to compile requirements, and help design viable solutions in accordance with the established methodology and standards; requiring the analysis and understanding of existing architectures, systems, and interfaces in order to translate design decisions into clear and complete specifications to the development team. Assist the project teams as they modify, improve, and test business functionality. Work with business users, analysts, technical teams, and other groups to analyze and document business, data and system requirements that represent current, near-term and longer-term business needs across the organization. Interview the business community to identify business requirements in addition, validate the business requirements are complete, consistent, concise, and achievable. Convey information architectures, concepts and messages clearly across varying levels of business and technical resources when communicating with data modelers, developers and DBAs implementing the solution. Conduct research on current workflow and operations of systems under study. May conduct interviews, observe workflow, review documentation, and gather data from other business areas. Work with the business community to understand requests for new processes or modifications.
