*Job Title: Network Architect*
*Location *- Atlanta, GA or Roseland, NJ (near Newark)
*Duration* – 6+ month contract
*Top Three Skills:*
1.) 7+ years of experience working in an enterprise-level environment
overseeing wireless deployments. Client uses Cisco in their environment,
but they are open to using other technologies such as Aruba and Juniper.
Person needs to have broad knowledge of all wireless products and be able
to use this knowledge for providing high-level solutions to client. Sample
interview question would be - "Provide an example of a time that you had to
recommend one technology versus another to meet a requirement? Why did you
make that decision? What was the outcome?"
2.) Proven experience architecting solutions within a data center
environment and presenting to C-level executives using MS Office Suite,
Power point and Visio
3.) Deep understanding of technologies such as Wireless, Packet Capture,
Scripting (Perl, Python), Automation, VPN, Load Balancing, DNS/DHCP,
extensive knowledge of core application with desktops (IE, OS). Also, need
to have experience with Routers, Switches, routing protocols i.e. BGP,
EIGRP. This does not need to be hands-on experience, but rather an
understanding of how technologies work together and the differences between
various providers. Will use this knowledge to collaborate with other
architecture teams and provide solutions to complex requirements. Will also
use knowledge towards vision and road mapping for company.
*Job Description:*
ADP is looking for a Data Architect for the Data Network Services Group.
This person will be responsible for setting technology direction, strategy,
policies, and guidelines for one or more technology activities (e.g.,
Wireless, Packet Capture, Automation, VPN) globally within the
organization. Partners with a specific division or functional area to
create the technology strategic vision and assures business plans are
developed and implemented to support the vision. This individual helps
their clients most significantly through: technology innovation, business
functionality, vendor alignment, and strategy and planning.
•Create annual technology business plan for area of responsibility.
•Provide vision in support of the creation of Architecture.
•Evaluate new and existing external vendors in support of the enterprise
goals.
•Recommend appropriate technology platform to support business processes
and information flows.
•Analysis and recommendation of new or different technologies to enhance
current systems.
•Provide technical support to client and technology management to ensure
development of efficient application systems utilizing established
standards, procedures and methodologies.
•Develop and maintain a system architecture and standards from firm wide
operations
•Resolve architectural and technology choices balancing strategic
integration and urgent business needs.
•Ensure that business technology requests maximize the technology
investments made.
•Address complex technology needs of the clients by applying sophisticated
technical skills and understanding business functions.
**This person will ultimately be responsible for establishing architecture
for ADP users' wireless capabilities**
Day-to-day will vary, but examples of primary tasks (in addition to
responsibilities mentioned above) may include:
- wireless solution has been deployed, but their is now a pain point that
needs to be researched or needs additional features
-review roadmap
-identify appropriate solution for new requirement
-twice/year, team will asks for company wish list ("what would you like for
the network to do"?) - answer are these tasks feasible and what is the cost?
- assist with refresh
- work on strategy for someone else’s project
- own relationship with manufacturer
- provide tier IV support for network which is highest level of support
before manufacturer
*Additional Information:*
Any scripting experience would be a plus, especially with Python or PHP;
Additional experience with Proxy Servers and DNS would also be a plus.
**This is not an engineer** - candidate needs to show strategic thinking
within resume
Do not need to have worked with budgets in the past as this is not a
Project Manager either
*Work Environment:*
Person will work on-site in Alpharetta, GA or Roseland, NJ in level IV data
center environment. Will frequently collaborate with other architecture
teams across the United States and globe. After person has been on-site for
six months, there may be some remote flexibility throughout work week
