One of our partners (Bit by Bit) has a SQL tuning tool, that will also do
this. The logic is that it looks at all sql statements stored in the
database, generates all explain plans and stores them in a background
database (BDE I think).

It can then tell you which indexes are used. Not very useful if you have a
whole load of ad-hoc statements flying around, but should be useful for the
application..

Let me know if you want to give it a try, we don't actively distribute this
particular tool as we have SQL tools coming out of our ears, but I can
arrange for a copy to be sent over..

Regards

Mark

Pine Cone Systems has software to do this.

There is also another company that has software to do this,
but I can't recall their name at the moment.

If you talk to Pine Cone, ask them who their competitors are.

Be forewarned, this stuff is very expensive.
