Hi Charles,

I think this is what you are looking for, This comes from Chapter 10, Schema
Objects of the Oracle 8i (release 2) Concepts manual:

User-Defined Operators
Oracle provides a set of built-in operators which include arithmetic
operators (+, -, *, /), comparison operators ( =, >, <), logical operators
(NOT, AND, OR), and set operators (UNION). These operators take as input one
or more arguments (operands) and return a result. They are represented in
SQL statements by special characters (+) or keywords (AND). Users and domain
cartridge writers can define new operators, which can then be used in SQL
statements like built-in operators. ...

Sam.

I could benefit from being able to "add" a new, homebrew SQL function into
the database.
I assume that it is possible; which might be incorrect.
Can someone point me any documention that explains how I could add my own
SQL function into the db?

I assume that some already has a PL/SQL function that accepts a Unix
date/time number
and returns an Oracle DATE variable. If anyone has code that does this, can
you please
send me a copy?

TIA & HAND!
