Thanks a lot.... No. It's just easier to find out how to write some
non-common structures or statements, like "PRAGMA interface" (one I'm
curious right now) referring to the syntax than just to examples, because
those examples aren't complete most of time. That's the only way I think
you'll be able to take advantage of all the potential of a language (I'm
still learning). Thanks a lot again.

I'm not aware of any book whose main topic is PL/SQL's formal syntax. For
that, you'd probably have to have a friend on the inside at Oracle. If you
can tolerate an old version, the site
http://cui.unige.ch/db-research/Enseignement/analyseinfo/PLSQL21/BNFindex.ht
ml
has BNF for PL/SQL 2.1

There are a lot of third-party books on the market which provide syntax in
their presentation of examples, but the supplement it quite a bit, and it's
not strictly presented like BNF. I think one that stays near to the
language syntax without a lot of pages is O'Reilly's "Oracle PL/SQL Pocket
Reference" (full disclosure: I am a co-author).

Just curious, why do you want the complete, formal syntax? Are you writing
a PL/SQL compiler <g>?

Thanks,
