I've now moved away from sci-fi, to gripping action - Tom Clancy, and a hell
of a lot of the SAS guys books, that have come out over the past couple of
years - Andy McNab (Bravo Two Zero) amongst others, Johnny "Two Combs" Boat
Troop etc. and Chris Ryan (The One that got away) and again a few others.

Andy McNab, and Chris Ryan, were both part of the team (Bravo Two Zero) who
got comprimised in Iraq during the Gulf War, Andy was caught and captured,
Chris was split away from the group, with two others, one of which died of
exposure, the other caught, and eventually ended up with Andy. Chris Ryan
managed to trek 300 ks to the Syrian border and escaped!

Hell of a story, and these guys can really write a gripping book!

Theres my literature lecture for the day :)

oh please, I've been reading Douglas Adams for YEARS!!!!

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency and Long Dark Tea-time of the Soul
were read ages ago :) but it's time to re-read them (man, if read all the
new [non-technical] things I want to, as well as re-reading the ones I
loved, I'd never do anything else!)

I is old, kiddo -- been reading science fiction since I was 15
