Lisa - You can always keep the same db name on a different server and change the
tnsnames.ora file to reference either db server. also set global_names=false. just

Hi, Lisa,
You can change database global name, but db_name change requires controlfile
to be recreated.

Hello everyone -

Is it possible to rename a database without recreating the controlfile? I
have a feeling it isn't, but can someone verify?

Thanks
