By the way, a TN is not a Visa. They are very different. There is no limit
on the amount of TN's they give out. You cannot apply for permanent
residency
in them. On a visa you will be kicked out of the country after you time has
expired (which depends on what Visa you get). There are other things but
you
should not confuse them because you may end up getting yourself into
something
you did not know about.

I am still sorting out that TN visa business - I am not sure but I think one
has to go back to their country of origin at least once a year, to update
the visa. I was told that all I need is US$55 at the border, with a letter
of offer from an American employer.
I have no idea how that would work - e.g. accepting a "permanent" position
in the U.S. on a TN visa. Where would I pay income taxes? Canada? The
U.S.? Nowhere?
