Jared,

I'm replying to the list since I don't see Nihar's
email address.

Multi-master replication would be an ideal candidate
for this situation as long as there is a primary key
on the table or one or more columns which can be used
to simulate a PK. It's always important to implement
conflict resolution, but especially in this situation
where the same username could potentially be added at
both sites.

One could also use triggers to do distributed DML to
replicate the changes, but due to the two phase commit
process this can be a significant bottleneck which
doesn't scale.

Replication is a complex feature which requires a
thorough understanding of the replication architecture
to implement it *successfully*. There are numerous
issues to consider before implementing replication. I
address some of these in my Replication Do's and
Don'ts paper to help people decide to use replication
only if it's the right tool for the job.

Bottom line... if you implement replication without
knowing what you're doing it's only a matter of time
before your luck will run out and you'll have
problems. Keeping your resume up to date would be a
good idea ;)

HTH,
