Lisa,

If you want an exact echo of Kevin's statement, count me in. We had a
similar situation in a far-away, tiny country called Brunei. AIX is the
best
UNIX OS I have seen - at least for the SA. And the S80 is a lean, mean
monster.

Lisa;
On the comment on AIX.... I came from a place that had large AIX
servers
running oracle 7.3.4 and 8.1.6. I am here to tell you they were the
best
machines that I have seen in a long time. The sys-admin tools were very
easy to use (I was both sys-admin and dba), the hardware was extremely
reliable (we actually ran {shiver} with no mirroring or raiding on
database
drives with no errors for over 4 years), and most (I have to qualify it
to
most) of the service technicians knew what they were doing.

There were a couple times when they sent us someone whom were under par
....
but one call to their area vp in charge of support at 4 am in the
morning
and those folks were replaced the next day. (Of course, it helped being
one
of their big clients in the area).

Anyway ... I prety much have to swear by AIX these days ..... it was a
very good system.

Kevin
