The reason you were bounced is not something that can normally be
answered from the server end.

It requires some detective work, often a lot of it.

The problems that I have dealt with when helping list members
have *always* been unrelated to the list.

Usually the users local mail server, sometimes a mail relay.

In any case, the best course of action is to start with your
local mail admin, as that is where the problem usually is.

You are not alone... Nobody correctly explained me why when
I had been unsubsctibed several months ago.
I've contacted support of fatcity and received this:
