I've got a sproc that uses a global temp. table. It works
very well for different users to run and then get results back.

Oracle is somewhat difficult about returning result sets from sprocs.
(Sybase, MSSQL are not as anal - but they have other problems)

There is no trick. Just experiment with what works best for you.

Hi all,

Where do I find more info, tricks, tips, when-to-use, when-not-to-use about
global temp tables? I have already been through the FMs, but would like to
find out more information.

I have a process that is executed hundreds of times by multiple users on a
daily basis. We are using pl/sql tables to hold the data to process
information, I'd want to investigate usage of global temp tables instead of
pl/sql tables. Some time the pl/sql tables becomes too large (few thousands
rows X 20 columns, average row length about 2K).

Thanks
Raj
