Title: RE: OT: DBA tasks..turning into Tivo.

What do you mean?  AFAIK it will record ~30+ hours of programming.  Is that what you're asking?  I'm not sure about Dish.

What has the recording time on Tivo gotten up to and does it work on all satelite systems ??   I have Dish .... and I know there is a package for Direct TV and Tivo ... but not sure if Dish is supported.

While that's a great feature.  I like the ability of Tivo to pick up shows that you like, based on your own tastes that it "learns".  Almost on a weekly basis it captures some movie that I have never seen or saw many years ago.  And then I will watch it that night, or watch bits of it over a week when I have time.  Plus I dont have to rush home to watch something on TV, Tivo saves it for me.

A "Tivo" should be in every TV.  But most people just dont get it.

BTW, what is the stripped card and adapter???

Nope, not yet.  When (and if) that happens, the advertising companies and networks are going to scream bloody murder.

However, you can turn on a program, wait 10 minutes, and then watch the entire thing fast-forwarding thru all commercials.  Super slick.  by far the coolest toy I have ever owned...  even though I opted not to purchase the stripped card and adapter.

        Angelina:

Do you know if your can setup your TIVO box so that it
can automatically ignore commercials when recording?
If, so how do you do that?

        Thanks,
