this is very new to me.... suddenly the count(*) on a 18 million row table
is taking 10 hours !! ! selecting from v$session_event is showing the
table is being "scattered read" but only 3 - 4 blocks at a time !!!
the db_file_multiblock_read_count is set to 32 in init.ora,
i have tried to re-analyze the table, validate structure etc... but
i cannot get the db to reach 32 block in an FTS, as before
