Hi ,
The settings in the listener.ora point to

"EJB specifies Java Remote Method Invocation (RMI) as the transport
protocol. Oracle8i JServer implements RMI over IIOP. Because the CORBA
Internet Inter-ORB Protocol (IIOP) is the transport protocol for CORBA and
for a future version of RMI, Oracle8i effectively enables direct
object-oriented access to an array of open systems.
"

So for Oracle 8i Jserver connections (PRESENTATION = GIOP) is specified.

Ross,
It's CORBA stuff. See note 69043.1 on Metalink.

Anyone seen this fecality in their listener.ora? It's a new one on me,
but then again, what with all the "newfangled" features in this here
product, I am probably just losing track......
