Use the NVL function... i.e. RPAD(NVL(A.SSN,0),9) -----Original Message----- Sent: Tuesday, January 15, 2002 12:17 PM To: Multiple recipients of list ORACLE-L
I am trying to create fixed length records from Oracle variable length data. I have the command RPAD(A.SSN,9) in the select statement of a query. If the person has '' in the SSN field, RPAD does not pad it out to 9 spaces. Is there aother way to do this?
