I received my undergrad degree from Purdue University which is one of the
best engineering schools in the country.  At the time engineering students
where only required to take one English class during their four year tenure.
And, it only had to be a simple speech class.  So, it is no wonder that
people in the US of A cannot communicate in writing.

Actually, I worry about the code people are pounding out if they can't spell
a simple sentence.

Caveat 1. I'm talking about native English speakers here. I'm in awe of
people who can communicate in more than one language.

Caveat 2. Occasional errors happen even with grammar and spell checkers. I'm
sure that I will make a mistake or two now that I've aired out my opinion on
this subject.
