Mike:
I've unzipped a patch to a mount point different from /oracle (again for
space constraint considerations) and installed from there.  It was a
separate stage, since the stage directory was created as part of the unzip
process.

I just pointed the OUI to that mount point/stage when I installed.

Worked fine.
