I also had some arguments with my boss over the years and except for 2-3 cases (in 20 years) that I told my boss that I will not do something and if he wants it he can do it himself, my motto was if he wants to waste resources for something that is obviously an error let him waste it. He wants you to waste time and disk space on a system that the users will not use: waste your time and the resources. He is management and he is the one who calls the shots. Just document everything to cover yourself later.
