Shreepad - Have you performed an EXPLAIN PLAN on this query? With and
without the statistics?

Hi,

I am facing a very strange problem.

Oracle 7.3.4.4.1 and HP 10.2

I do an analyze of a huge table (more than 46 million records) .
The query which hits this table and 2 other table has an RULE hint .

On the day analyze fails on the big table, performance is very very slow .
But with analyze performance is ok.

1) With RULE shouldn't oracle overrule the statistics and take the hint
only. Why does it seem to be checking statistics .

The init.ora value is choose .
