Fawzia - I have not experienced your error, so these are just some thoughts. Have you checked the dbid in RMAN and in the database (v$database)? Have you performed an O.S. clone of the database? Metalink has quite a few entries on 20011 that may provide some ideas. If you need to reset the catalog and also be able to use the 5/16 backup, one idea might be to export/recreate the RMAN catalog under another schema first. Never tried that, but just a thought.
