Stefan - By NAS, I assume you mean "Network Attached Storage". We use a Net Appliance on our test server and it works well for the purpose. Basically we have about a dozen Oracle instances which are used infrequently, so it provides tons of cheap storage that isn't used that much. I found out the hard way that you can overwhelm it with too many simultaneous heavy batch jobs.
