Ethan I'm not Robert, but the newby book he recommended to me is Oracle Backup & Recovery 101 by Smith and Haisley. About half of it is devoted to RMAN. Would have saved me a lot of time when I started, but it hadn't been published then.

I have a request from someone who is a newbie to track down some info, I would recommend your book if it was out yet :) Thanks, Ethan -- Please see the official ORACLE-L FAQ: http://www.orafaq.com -- Author: Post, Ethan INET: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fat City Network Services -- (858) 538-5051 FAX: (858) 538-5051 San Diego, California -- Public Internet access / Mailing Lists -------------------------------------------------------------------- To REMOVE yourself from this mailing list, send an E-Mail message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (note EXACT spelling of 'ListGuru') and in the message BODY, include a line containing: UNSUB ORACLE-L (or the name of mailing list you want to be removed from).
