We have several developers using java stored procedures. No real 'gotchas' other than making sure all of the java versions are correct. Java is essentially dumbed down C++. Why folks want to go to the extra steps coding baffles me since PL/SQL is much more powerful inside the database. But, there is a lot to be said for portability. Especially, when the final envirnoment is yet to be determined.
