Look for the code TOP 10 WRITE PINGING OBJECTS TOP 10 READ PINGING OBJECTS and TOP 10 FALSE PINGING OBJECTS in opsdiag.sql ( available in metalink doc. id 205809.1 )
Last week, we wrote a shell script to gather the above information every 20 minutes ( instead of running opsdiag.sql every 20 minutes ) and started taking actions on the indexes where we were seeing a high level of waits caused by 'global cache cr request'. Atleast two of the TOP 10 were indexes that could be comfortably dropped w/o causing any application degradation in our case. Hope this helps.
