Ashoke, I can't speak for SUN, but as far as I know HP is the same way. You need to install into a seperate ORACLE_HOME. For me that's /ora1/817 for 6.1.7 and /ora1/816 for 8.1.6.

But I get an error saying that you cannot install 8.1.6 when you have already installed 8.1.7 in this box. I was under impression that you can install a lower version of Oracle in the same box.
