Unfortunately, the ACCESS virus has been let loose in my company.
The main production Oracle database consumes about 150GB.
The total sum of ACCESS files in now at 200+GB & growing at a faster rate
than the Oracle files.
The users spend a LOT of time trying to reconcile differences between
various Access
"snapshots" (taken at different times) and Production Oracle DB. Giving
ACCESS to users
can be as dangerous as giving them SQL*Plus so they can change data
bypassing the
various data sanitizing routines resulting in "dirty data".

Be afraid. Be VERY afraid!

HTH & YMMV!

Hi,

We are virtually an Oracle shop with 2-3 sql server databases due to
3rd-party software restrictions.
We have been asked about supporting other "small" databases such as
Access, etc within our company. My question is if
you were asked to support "smaller" databases what
restrictions/guidelines/standards are worth considering?
Be kind-constructive answers only :-)

Thanks
Rick
