April - One thing I've discovered is everyone is frustrated with their ERP,
whether it is Oracle Apps, SAP, Peoplesoft, etc. I think the ERP systems are
vastly more complex than a "mere" OS, or maybe not so self-contained.

OURs keeps telling me what a piece of crap Oracle Apps is, not nice and
simple like an OS install or an Office migration.... and WHAT would they
need to test what THEY do for... they blanket install everything the same
time... it IS after all, only an OS patch..but when apps pukes because no
one told anyone about the OS patch, and I have to spend a week playing chase
the itar only to find out what they did and "all" it will take to fix it...

"Who knew" "Piece of Crap software"

I cannot trust my network admins. They do crap without any notification.
They will make a change and then I will spend the next day trying to figure
out what happened. Their typical response is "Oh, we didn't know that the
databases would be affected". DO NOT TRUST NETWORK ADMINS. And from my
time working in IS I have found that network admins have no communication
skills. These are NT guys. I had better luck with unix network admins
though. Go figure.

Lyndon, I wish I knew what caused the problem. And I have no idea how the
monkey that broke it solved the problem. I think it had something to do
with removing folder shares, but I'm not sure.

I am so busy whipping out volumes of pl/sql code that I can't stop to
understand why. I have to figure out how to smooth over the fact that we
lost one day in our already tight schedule that is making it necessary for
me to work from home at night (DSL + VPN = FUN! Sometimes.)

Cut, Paste, Test, Kill. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Wish I could just leave work and "get pissed out of my tree."

Mrs. Monkey.
