Perhaps someone on the list will know the answer as I have not found anything in the manual (though I might have missed it).

If a procedure is performing file i/o to more than one file and an exception is raised related to the utl_file package how can I determine which file had the exception?

eg.

begin
...

utl_file.put_line(fh_extract,v_extract_dataline);
utl_file.put_line(fh_log,v_logmsg);
...

exception
when utl_file.write_error then
 ...
end;

David
