Dennis - In reflecting on your question, I have to wonder whether you don't have a larger problem. Since your email address doesn't end in "cia.gov", I have to ask whether you as a DBA can adequately manage this application. If I were given this request, I would tell the developer "let's go find the person who can authorize your access and they will have the password". I have forgotten the password for some userids, but I would be reluctant to take responsibility for an application where we didn't have the password. Just my 2 cents worth.

Changing password for this app can be tricky and will be used as last resort. My question is is there anything else I can do to meet this request?
