Good afternoon everyone, I'd like to know if anyone out there is using the export/import method to copy data from a LONG column to a CLOB column. I've been doing this for a number of months now, but one the DBAs I spoke to thinks that this method is not supported and there may be issues around it. I know that we can use the TO_LOB function but I wanted to export from one database and import into another database. I don't really want to write code around it unless I really really have to.
I've seen 9i's Utilities manual talks about it in "Importing LONG Columns" but have not seen any Oracle 8i documentation on it.
