Scads of extents in a dictionary managed tablespace...BAD!

In a dictionary managed tablespace with default storage of 104K/104K (I
didn't know this until way later / too late), I created a table (without
specifying storage) and loaded that thing up. It was taking up 7.5 GB
on disk when complete. Then later, when his new home was ready, I used
'alter table move' to put him there, followed by altering the source
tablespace offline and dropping it. On an HP N-class machine with 8
processors and 16 GB RAM and a very healthy EMC symm for storage, it
took almost 4 hours for Oracle to deallocate those 65,000 + extents,
coalesce and release the tablespace.

The same operation (move table, drop tablespace, etc.) took less than
30 minutes when going from/to LMTs with uniform of 50M.
Maybe later I'll try the original mess up with tiny extents / big table
in an LMT just for fun!
