Turn on tracing on the client PC by adding the appropriate trace parameters to the sqlnet.ora file. This will produce a trace file upon your next connection attempt and you will be able to (hopefully) see what is causing the problem. It is hard for anyone to diagnose a connectivity problem without more information like which version of Oracle, is a Names Server being used?, does the target server's IP address exist in the PC's local host file?, etc. RWB ============================================================================ ================================ Reginald W.
