Ron:   I don't know SQL Backtrack, but two things popped into my head as I read your message.  One, RMAN does not have a media interface layer.  It depends on a utility such as Legato (also currently included with Oracle) or Netbackup or OmniBack.  Two, EMC just bought Legato.  This tool may not be included in future releases.   Cheers, Mike   -----Original Message----- From: Smith, Ron L.
