Wait...and... wait... and .... w.a.i.t
In our case, a lot of the problem was 'supposed' to be a bug fixed
in 9.2 (for a while it was EMN0 waking up... but now that error seems to have
mysteriously disappeared)... oh and Oracle's position is... shutdown abort is a
perfectly legitimate means of shutting down the database. So is just
cycling the box but an option that I am comfortable with as a problem
solution? NOT.
