O/S is AIX 4.3.3

/usr/sbin/bootinfo -p returns "chrp" meaning that the hardware is
capable of either 32 or 64 bit operation.

/usr/sbin/bootinfo -K returns "32" meaning that the kernel is running
in 32 bit mode.

When I run sqlplus the server says:

Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.0.0 - 64bit Production

How can I be running the 64 bit server on a system with a 32 bit kernel?

Thanks,
Peter Schauss
