As for 'other productivity tools', doesn't OpenOffice count as a 'productivity tool'? Gaim seems to work fine as well. I personally see the move to Fedora to be a Good Thing(tm) for RedHat's breed of Linux. They've opened up the development process for their distro substantially and as I wear both a SA and a DBA hat where I work, I look forward to using Fedora on my servers, with the new flexibility of more community involvement. If, in the corporate environment, you need support for the OS, then by all means, use RedHat's enterprise-level distributions. Support for them will still be there. As for support for the regular Joe like you and me, there is a wealth of support available via RedHat's mailing lists, bugzilla, usenet, etc. As it stands, that's always been sufficient for me.
