PHP Developer This role is for a programming developer. The programming developer is responsible for developing software according to specification and standards for a packaged software application. Loc: Seattle, WA The company supports a telecommunications software package product with multiple functional components: Billing, CRM, Voice & Data Service Provisioning, Trouble Ticketing, Tower Management, General Ledger, Customer Premise Inventory and Network Equipment Inventory, Sales and Revenue Management. The software developer will be responsible for implementing new customer requirements into the software package, and integrating successfully across all functional modules. The software developer will work with the other development team members to implement software changes. Technical experience is required, and domain knowledge within the functional components is a plus. Software developer responsibilities include. Perform programming activities to deliver software according to specification and standards. Work with project manager and functional lead to ensure clarity of specification. Perform software build activities to ensure compliance with standards and best practices for the software package. Demonstrate ability to perform programming tasks. Must be a self-starter; possess excellent communication and organizational skills along with the ability to work well under pressure. Assist with the development of procedures and processes to improve operational efficiency. Work in an environment that adheres to work plans/schedules and status reporting. Work effectively with internal and external clients. Additional duties as assigned. Education/ Work experience requirements: Bachelor degree or equivalent. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree. Web development experience in PHP is required. Object Oriented Programming experience in PHP5 is required. In depth SQL knowledge is required. Experience working in a team environment, making use of a revision control system such as CVS or Subversion. Experience with a MVC framework is highly desirable. Strong troubleshooting skills are highly desirable. Working knowledge of Linux is highly desirable. Test Driven development experience is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of HTML, Javascript, and CSS is highly desirable. Experience developing scalable software in a multiple-server environment is highly desirable. Familiarity with common design patterns is a plus. Experience developing in a Service Oriented Architecture is a plus. MySQL experience is a plus. Experience with caching techniques and products such as APC, eAccelerator, memcached is a plus. Experience using the Eclipse (PDT) IDE is a plus. Experience writing unit test suites in PHP Unit is a plus. Experience with the Jquery Javascript library is a plus. Strong skills in web application components such as PHP, SOAP, Tomcat, Struts, JSP's, and MySQL. Experience with Web Services a plus Demonstrate a strong track record as a programmer 2+ years programming experience in web application environment Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and solve issues. Possess good judgment, positive attitude and professional demeanor. Dependable, with excellent organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills, and be flexible in a dynamic team environment.
