Interview Process: Telephonic+F2F Interview





Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Display strong inter-personal and communication skills.

Provide 24 x 7 on call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other
team members.

Provide advanced troubleshooting for applications and systems.

Provide advanced technical support for database related project activities.

Build and modify systems to meet project and user requirements.



Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Participate in design and code reviews.

Provide mentoring to fellow administrators.

Evaluate database and software requirements and influence design decisions.

Configure and tune databases and operating system software to ensure optimum
performance and resource utilization.



Minimum Required Skills / Competencies:

Advanced knowledge of most SQL utilities such as BCP, DTS, SSIS, etc.

• Advanced knowledge of T-SQL and ability to write stored procedures, UDFs
and triggers.

• Advanced knowledge of debugging and performance tuning stored procedures,
UDFs and triggers.

• Advanced knowledge of index analysis.

• Advanced knowledge of various monitoring and tuning tools such as
Profiler, Spotlight.

• Advanced knowledge of advanced installation and configuration procedures.

• Advanced knowledge of data normalization.

• Proven competence with partitioning advanced queuing, cursors, etc.

• Working knowledge of hardware, including RAID, multi- processor
architecture, etc.

• Working knowledge of VBScript and advanced DTS, SSIS package design.

• Working knowledge of networking and how it relates to SQL Server
connectivity.

• Working knowledge of at least one high level programming language (VB, C#,
C++)

• Ability to create tools from scratch needed for database administration.

• Advanced knowledge of shell scripting (i.e. command line applications,
batch files, etc.)



Experience required for this position:

Three to seven years experience in a large SQL 2000 and 2005 environment.

Solid experience with Windows 2000 and 2003 operating system.



Education/Vocational Training:

A four year degree in computer science or equivalent experience.



Preferred skills:

• Experience in SQL 2008; Multi-node Clusters Shift / scheduled hours:-M-F -
